CrossPoint Family,
Yesterday Governor DeWine gave the state of Ohio some needed direction. As a result of his directives, gatherings of over 100 people are banned. Copley-Fairlawn schools are closed through April 12. Ohioans are encouraged to refrain from unnecessary face-to-face interaction. These directives are aimed at stopping the spread of the Corona virus, aka COVID-19.
Our leadership has weighed in on these developments and we believe the best course of action is to err on the side of caution. Below are CrossPoint’s guidelines for the next three weeks. We’ll reassess in early April.
No Sunday services through March 29, 2020.
Small Group, ministry team, ESL, Youth, and Bible study face-to-face gatherings are not recommended.
All this said, we are presently working on tech solutions for Sunday morning. We want to do either a live stream or webinar, whichever is most workable. We will send out further direction for that before Sunday morning.
For non-Sunday morning meetings, team leaders can use the CrossPoint Zoom tool. Contact Kellie for details. Naturally, other video options are available such as Google hangouts, Facetime, or Skype. Ministry leaders should reach out to your respective teams to let them know your plans.
We believe these measures to be in keeping with our Governor’s direction and counsel. Additionally, the District office has recommended such precautions.
What do we do otherwise?
It isn’t too often that we get such direction from the government. Take advantage of it. Rest. Regather your thoughts. Take time to think and pray. Call one another and encourage each other on the phone. Pray together, interact together (digitally). Take time to…ask God what he is doing in the world through this. We’re in uncharted but exciting territory.
The office at CrossPoint will remain open. Feel free to communicate and we’re doing everything we can to move us forward during this season.
Thank you everyone and let’s stay together in spirit,
David
